Mother-Daughter Campout Fri Nov 21st, 2008

These were our younguns..... They posed so well for the group picture in the freezing cold so we let them make a silly picture. We had 11 girls & 8 Mom's attend. We camped out at Camp Wawbansee in Arcadia in a cabin with a fireplace, cots, a small kitchen, & 3 bathrooms. It was greatttttt!!!!! We didn't have to walk in the cold to go to the bathroom. Yeahhhhh!!!!! That is a major plus with this camp. We'll definitley camp there again. I really recommend it!!!!

Here's there sweet posed picture. Awwwwww.....

We had 4 big girls attend and you'll see them rarely in the pictures. They didn't think my picture taking was fun. Here is my daughter and her best friend Kaitlyn. (yeah they are used to my picture taking so you'll see them in my pictures.) Look how warm they look. We dressed in thermals, layers, several pairs of socks, hats, & gloves. I can say I was warm the whole time.

We roasted hotdogs, chili, hot cocoa, & smores. Here is Brooke cooking her own supper.

Here's Sara's oldest daughter.

They had a blast. I think if you asked them again they'd go camping again. Ashley even said it was the best mother-daughter campout she has attended. This is our 4th.

There's Mrs. Dana & her daughter Sarah. (Dana when you were jumping off your dad's car at Walmart Ashley about had a panic attack thinking I was going to leave you stuck there. I didn't notice you, but she wouldn't let me leave you. You made an impact on my girls. Thanks.)

Here's my Ashley. She doesn't like hot dogs, but she is being a great sport and eating them anyway. She really is a doll.

Here's Ms. Niki & her daughter Paige. They are our newest troop members and they are awesome. Can't wait to have lots of fun girl scout times with them!!!!

Here's Sarah laughing at the older girls Ashley & Kaitlyn leading them in campfire songs by the fireplace.

They had a great time and learned alot of great campfire songs. They really got into it. I enjoyed watching them. They were so cute.

Next we hiked to the kitchen across camp and made Milk & Honey soap. They liked it so much I am going to do it with my troop and Ashley's troop. It was super easy. It would also make great gifts. I'll have to post finish product pictures later.

We all slept in the room with the fireplace. We pulled the mattresses off the cots and all bunkered down with our massive amounts of blankets. I was warm all night, but my big hearted older daughter had given her extra blankets to the 2 older girls who slept in the other room with out heat. Yeha she froze all night. I told her next time she could have gotten in the sleeping bag with me and she wouldn't have been cold. I could have turned our sleeping bags into one big bed and we could have shared. She'll do that next time.

Yeah I know this was a mother daughter thing, but both of my daughters wanted to sleep by there friends. Thats ok I see them alot and they don't hardly see there friends as much. Especially to camp with. They had fun and thats all that mattered.

Here is the next day. You'll see Mrs. Kim (Kaitlyn's mom), Ashley, & Jenny. (jenny lead all of the hiking we did. Thanks Jenny!!!!!)Oh Yeah. You ask why this picture is so important to me?????? Well I was talking with a mother and I over hear Brooke tell one of the girls to just leave there Breakfast plates there b/c her mother (me) waould clean them up. Yeah. You know I had to correct that. I advised her that it would be best if she did it herself. That..... of course.... I was not everyone's maid... HaHa. So looky here. Brooke & her friend cleaned there own plates. Maybe we should have girl scouts everyday so Brooke will clean up after herself. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Here's our breakfast crew. Our AWESOME breakfast crew. Thanks a bunch Sarah & Mrs. Pam!!!!!!!!! You know I can't cook for that many.
All in all we had a blast. I would do it again in a heart beat. I really appreciated the help from all of the Mom's that attended. We had a great group of girls and moms. Thank you all for coming and having fun. If there is anything you want to do differently or that we didn't get to do let me know and we'll do it next time.
